During his 20+ year professional career, Stephen has focused on supporting the investment needs of both private clients and institutions. At Callan Family Office, Steve leverages his prior research and portfolio management experience to contribute to the firm’s investment process, strategy, and execution. Through collaboration with entrepreneurs, families, institutions, and their advisors, he helps them define their unique investment objectives and builds customized strategies aimed at achieving their goals.
In addition to working with clients, Steve serves on the Callan Family Office Due Diligence Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. He is also integrally involved in client reporting and overseeing middle office functions, primarily related to private investments.
Prior to Callan Family Office, Steve was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Abbot Downing, Wells Fargo’s ultra-high-net-worth practice. Before leaving, he was responsible for nearly $2 billion in assets under management. Previously, Steve entered the industry working for a small bank and trust company in Delaware before transitioning to the head of manager research and due diligence for an institutional consulting team that was employed by broker-dealers such as Legg Mason, Smith Barney/Morgan Stanley, and Janney Montgomery Scott.
Steve earned his MBA from the Villanova School of Business, with specializations in real estate and finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management, with a concentration in finance, from Bucknell University.
Steve holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Philadelphia.
