Dan Burke brings more than 15 years of experience in research, strategy, and portfolio construction for institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients to his role at Callan Family Office.
Most recently Dan served as Managing Director, Head of Institutional Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) for Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he led the investment management offering for the bank’s largest institutional and family office clients. Prior to that he served as a Managing Director and Head of Portfolio Construction and Analytics for Abbot Downing, the Wells Fargo business unit serving ultra-high-net-worth families, foundations, and endowments. Dan led the design of Abbot Downing’s tax-efficient portfolio construction philosophy and process while also serving as co-head of the asset allocation committee, which was responsible for developing Abbot Downing’s asset allocation guidance.
He joined Abbot Downing in 2007 as an investment analyst after beginning his career with Morgan Stanley.
Dan earned an MBA in Finance, Econometrics, and Statistics with High Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He did his undergraduate work at Bowling Green State University, earning a Business Administration, Finance degree Magna Cum Laude having completed a four-year honors finance course of study in three years.
Dan is accredited as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and serves on the Bowling Green State University Finance Advisory Board.
