As Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Doug Evans leads Callan Family Office’s rigorous investment process comprised of research, investment strategy, portfolio construction, and risk management. He spearheads the development of the firm’s investment capabilities, cultivates partnerships, drives thought leadership, and regularly appears in the media. In his current role, Doug draws upon more than three decades of experience in providing discretionary investment portfolios across liquid and illiquid assets for ultra-high-net-worth families, foundations, and endowments.

In addition to his role as CIO, Doug serves on Callan Family Office’s Executive Management Team as well as leads the Investment Committee. Additionally, he serves as a key liaison between the firm and the Callan Institute, which is widely recognized as one of the industry’s leading research and education forums.

Prior to Callan Family Office, Doug was Executive Vice President and Head of Investments for Abbot Downing. In this capacity, he also served on Wells Fargo’s Global Investment Strategies and Global Investment Risk committees.

He graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara, with a master’s degree in business and economics, with an emphasis in econometrics, and a bachelor’s degree in economics. A Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst® professional, Doug is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of San Francisco, and the Investments and Wealth Institute.
